Mark Consuelos, who stars on "All My Children" and is married to Kelly Ripa (Live with Regis and Kelly) lives and works in New York, but Friends films in Los Angeles. It's interesting that he made a small guest appearance on the opposite coast.
From the L.A. Times: Alexis Arquette, David Arquette's brother and, therefore, Courteney Cox-Arquette's brother-in-law, is a real-life cross-dresser and had a bit part in this episode as a cocktail waitress. He had this to say about Kathleen Turner's performance: "Kathleen nails this role, gorgeous, in head-to-toe vintage Bob Mackie. . . . She made the part on 'Friends' sing. There is a fine line of being vampy and campy without coming off schmaltzy. She is still in the realm of femininity. Nobody could have played this part better, in my opinion."
This episode was originally filmed without Matthew Perry. Courtney Cox only originally filmed the opening scene where Ross borrows the car. The storyline of Monica and Chandler going to Las Vegas was post-taped after Perry got out of rehab.
The original ending of this episode had Phoebe and Rachel catching Joey returning Rachel's underwear to her drawer. It was replaced by the Central Perk scene where Joey hits on a customer.
